GOOD MORNING SONNET
The distant roar of engines raises me
from off my back and where I lay my head
to welcome all the morning has for me
more comfortable than my own downy bed

I fill my pot and soon it's piping hot
and after showering the whole of me
I swear to life, I'll give it all I've got
if life gives something nice right back to me;

then praising Jesus, who's the soul of me
I dart out to the bus stop, chewing on
biscuited bacon, for the strength of me
'tis there I greet the coming of the dawn.

Good morning world, praise Jesus for this day
then boarding to the bus, I'm on my way!
